In April we had a ton of great maternity, baby and newborn photo sessions, even a one month old Chinese celebration. It was a great month and we had a lot of fun working with all of our clients. Our first photography session was a maternity photo shoot, followed by a number of newborn photography sessions.
We love to travel to our clients homes as we were given the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with new areas of Vancouver, its surrounding neighborhoods, and beyond.
There were a lot of special photo-shoots this month and we wanted to share the pictures and the story behind them.
In Chinese culture it is traditional to have 2 important days for their newborn. Many parents celebrate this tradition by either celebrating or having a special baby photography session, which helps to preserve their most precious moments.
The first important day is one month after the newborn baby is born. After the birth of the newborn the parents tend to stay at home recovering and they commonly invite their friends and family come to visit them. When the baby turns a month old relatives and friends are invited to the one-month-old-baby banquet. After that it’s time for mom and the little one to go out and spend some time together, which normally includes shopping and more hanging out with friends and family.
The other day is when a baby reaches 100 days, this is a big celebration!
This is an important day for families because the 100 days birth celebration represents the wish that the newborn baby will live 100 years. We plan to share the album of 100 days old photography in an upcoming blog post.
